Hello guys, back with me, Jennie, a travel blogger who always been cheerful and full of energy.
We commonly know Yogyakarta as the Gudeg City, Students City, the city with a million arts and a million tourist attractions which never fail to impress its visitors. Why do I say attractions in Jogja never disappoint its visitors? Because if you visit or go on vacation in Jogja, you don’t need to spend a lot of money to enjoy the beauty of these tourist destinations. For example, Prambanan Temple, Parangtritis Beach, Seribu Batu Songgo Langit, Becici Peak, Sri Gethuk Waterfall, etc.
Apart from the above examples, there is another tourist destination that is unique, beautiful, and certainly doesn’t cost a lot. The mentioned place is Agro-tourism Bhumi Merapi. As the name suggests, the Bhumi Merapi Agro-tourism is on Mount Merapi’s slopes or, more precisely, at Jalan Kaliurang Km 20, behind the Hargobinangun Village Hall, Pakem, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Suppose you depart from downtown Jogja. The distance you have to travel to visit Bhumi Merapi Agro Tourism is about 22 Km, with a car’s travel time of approximately 40 minutes.
The owner built this tourist destination in 2015, and although it is still relatively new, many local and foreign tourists have visited this destination. Agrowisata Bhumi Merapi uses the concept of agro-tourism and education, so besides holidays, tourists can also learn. This destination is very suitable for all tourists ranging from children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. Here, tourists can learn many things such as agriculture, livestock, and also plantations.
For animal cultivation, tourists can see livestocks such as rabbits, horses, sheep, goats, cows, weasels, reptiles, birds, and chickens. Tourists can also interact with animals, feed animals, milk cows, give drinks to goats, process goat manure into fertilizer, process goat's milk to make yogurt or ice cream. For plantation cultivation, tourists can see the making of civet coffee, see hydroponic plants or gardens. Tourists can also interact with plants by practicing watering hydroponic plants. If this hydroponic plant is ready for harvest, usually the results will be processed and used for restaurants in Merapi Bhumi. For agricultural cultivation, tourists can see plants such as roses, tulips, and long grasses.
Besides carrying out activities such as agriculture, plantations, and animal husbandry. There are also instagramable photo spots provided here, such as hobbit houses and langlang buana rides. This ride provides a unique Alpine House nuance spot, with wooden windows and walls. And there are replicas of Santorini buildings in Greece. So tourists don’t need to go to Greece to see Santorini’s buildings, because in Agrowisata Bhumi Merapi there are also buildings like it. To get more memorable photos, they also provide costumes on which tourists can rent.
For public facilities, this place has adequate facilities because there is a Merapi Bhumi restaurant, a large parking area, public toilets, a seating area, a gazebo, a prayer room, and a canteen. Bhumi Merapi Agro-tourism is open every Monday and Sunday from 08.30 AM to 05.00 PM. For the price of admission to Bhumi Merapi Agro Tourism, it is IDR 30,000 per person. What do you think? It is worth it, right? At a very reasonable price, you can already enjoy the Agrowisata Bhumi Merapi. Well, for those of you who don’t want the inconvenience of arranging everything, you can use tour operator in Jogja or you can buy tickets directly on the spot.
